The festival season has officially begun folks! Now is the time to start thinking of great music, long sunny days and good times with your favourite mates….

And keeping in line with their track record of attending biggest and best festivals, Oxfam will be campaigning at the amazing 2012 Deer Shed festival.

The Deer Shed festival will take place over 20-22 July 2012 at Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, North Yorkshire .

Festival Campaigners

"It sounds like a cliché but it was a life changing experience. I had so much fun and met so many amazing people, but the life-changing bit was discovering what an amazing organisation Oxfam is. I'd only started campaigning a month before but I've never looked back" - Suzanne, Campaigner at Glastonbury 2007, 2010

Are you passionate about making difference? Oxfam are now looking for volunteer Festival Campaigners where you'll be doing just that.

Your role onsite as a Festival Campaigner will be to take the message of our GROW campaign out to the crowds. You'll be talking to festival-goers all over the site and encouraging them to join a movement for global food justice.

And for all of our campaigners there's a chance to enjoy the music as a thank you for all your good work!

To apply please email Naomi Davey on n.davey@oxfam.org.uk for an application pack.

Deadline for applications - 5pm Friday 29 June 2012

The GROW Campaign

GROW is Oxfam's new campaign for food justice which promotes better ways to grow, share, and live together.

From growing your own veg, to joining local co-ops, to drinking vegan beer, there's a million ways to promote sustainable food. These small changes locally make big waves globally. They can lead to a world where everyone has enough to eat.

About The Deer Shed Festival

The Deer Shed Festival has been wonderfully described as 'having the vibe of a lazy Sunday afternoon in the perfect pub beer garden, sound-tracked by a bill that resembles the 6 Music playlist'

The festival team book bands they love, work with like-minded people, keep it chilled, don't squeeze a thousand tents into a field the size of a postage stamp and don't charge a fortune. Good old-fashioned hospitality and great bands.

This fab festival vibe will be paired with an great musical line up which includes Saint Etienne, Villagers, Cherry Ghost, Los Campesinos!, Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny, Dutch Uncles, School Of Seven Bells and more...

Plus there will be a cinema, theatre, spoken word, poetry, arts and kids activities too….

Shortlisted for the Best Family-Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2011, this is a great independent festival run by a family for the family.
