Simon and Lewis from Bristol posted silly but brilliant videos throughout December 2012 including an ingenious video advent calendar, prompting supporters to donate to Oxfam. They raised an amazing £64,000 for us to spend on goats! Their 'thank you' videos have had more than 1 million views and were in YouTube's top 10 most watched videos on their release. And JustGiving presented them with the 2012 JustGiving most popular fundraiser award. They visited our emergency supplies warehouse in Bicester and made another inspired recording.

  • Pupils at the King's Girls School in Macclesfield raised an amazing £3,312 for Oxfam through more than 50 events including swimming parties, cake sales, and the Head Girl remembering the name of every girl in the school! Find more fundraising ideas for schools in our Fundraising ideas section.
  • These four intrepid women made up the Trailwalker UK 2011 team 'Sussex and Surrey Strollers', who raised £3,000 for Oxfam and joined more than 500 other teams in completing the epic 100km course.
  • For Oxfam Water Week, the fantastic kids from Key Meadows Primary school in Enfield ran a 'Marathon for Mali' doing 26 one-mile races each! Here they are at West Ham's home ground where they completed the races.
  • Liam Monaghan (pictured) organised an Oxjam event in the Midlands, raising more than £750 through ticket sales and donations. The event, showcasing local musical talent, took place at The Regal in Ripley, and more than 240 people attended.
  • Rita and Jennie from Sutton Coldfield held a pampering event which raised more than £550. They are part of the local Sutton Coldfield fundraising group.
  • People are willing to pay cash to see their friends shave their heads, grow beards, dye their hair pink – all sorts. Willing victim Chung-Saan Kong raised £600 from a sponsored head shave.
