Improve education for girls in poor, disaster-hit areas of Pakistan
Building on extensive experience of improving education in Pakistan, Oxfam is working alongside long-term partners and local government to help thousands of children - especially girls - to get a decent education.
With your support we aim to:
- Increase enrolment, attendance and retention of children, particularly girls in vulnerable communities;
- Improve school infrastructure in flood-affected areas by pressuring local governments to replicate model, flood-proof school designs;
- Enhance the quality of education by providing teaching materials, training teachers and education officials, and encouraging them to adopt good education practices;
- Make education a national political priority and improve education financing by empowering children to campaign nationwide for their right to a good quality education.
Who will benefit
Directly, 60,000 children, 650 teachers and 32 district education officials will benefit from improved teaching, budgeting skills, and education materials. Approximately 100,000 children will be engaged in the education campaign.
