Thank you to every one of the volunteers who joined us for Trailwalker 2012
Thank you so much to all of our Trailwalker Volunteers, who volunteered in some of the wettest and muddiest conditions we have ever seen for this event. The weather meant that the participants appreciated your help and support even more, whether it was making a cup of tea, cheering them on, helping them check in, or guiding a tired walker to a nearby seat.
One participant summed this up by saying "Best of all, everyone we encountered throughout the event, from start to finish, just kept smiling... despite the mud, sweat and rain. I would genuinely recommend this event to everyone."
The teams have now raised over £1.2 million for the vital work of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust around the world.
Could you support Oxfam in 2013 by donating your time?
We'd love to see you at Trailwalker 2013, 26 - 28 July. The event is not possible without Oxfam volunteers, who keep the walkers going with cheering, cups of tea and information about the route, as well as registration and the medal giving at the finish line.
- We need volunteers to help at registration, checkpoints, medal giving at the finish line or to help supervise teams of volunteers.
- We also ask for volunteers with physiotherapy experience, as we offer walkers massage and advice at several points throughout the route.
- Finally, if you're a budding photographer, videographer, or blogger, we'd like to hear from you too!
Each person who volunteers for Oxfam saves an incredible amount of money, and walkers have claimed they've saved their lives too! Do something amazing today and donate your time to Oxfam. We hope to see you soon.
