Trainee Intern Assistant Manager (Palmers Green, London)

Context:

The Volunteer Assistant Manager will be the focal point for the smooth running of the shop in the manager's absence.  Ensuring that correct procedures are followed. In an effort to maximise sales.  This role requires a more reliable level of commitment than other volunteer roles.

Frequency: Up to 3 days per week for 6 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify items from donated stock that are suitable for sale
  • Identify potential high value items
  • Deal with customer queries
  • Ensure good teamwork and smooth running within the store in the manager's absence (when trained)

Skills and competencies:

  • An interest in either: Fashion, Music, Books or Antiques
  • Reliability and ability to maximise store potential
  • Ability to work within shop guidelines
  • Ability to work well within a team and to be able to delegate tasks and responsibilities to a team effectively

What this role can offer the volunteer:

 This role gives you a unique ability to gain managerial experience in a retail environment whilst helping Oxfam to overcome poverty and suffering.
