Intern Assistant Manager (Clothing & Accessories)(Wood Green,London)

This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a busy, vibrant and successful Oxfam Shop in London as a clothing and accessories intern. Ideally you will have previous experience, have an interest in working in fashion or just love clothes and accessories. Countrywide, within the Oxfam league tables, we are in the top 20 for sales in accessories so this department is very important to us. You will be joining the Shop Manager and given relevant training as required to enable you to help run all aspects of this busy department. During this time you will gain managerial and retail experience while joining a fun, friendly team whilst helping us to maximise sales.

Frequency: Up to 3 days per week for 3/6 months.

• Assist the Manager in the daily running of the shop
• Take responsibility for the operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manger (once fully trained)
• Assist the Manager to recruit and train new volunteers, manage and motivate existing volunteers to help us achieve great results within this department
• Cash handling, financial management, till work and general administrative tasks
• Specialisation within the Clothing and accessories department
• Merchandising, displays, planning, windows and seasonal management
• Identifying current trends and labels and implementing within the store to maximise profit

• Have experience, knowledge or a keen interest in clothing and accessories
• Honesty, reliability, integrity and commitment to the shop and Oxfam's values
• Motivating teams and maximising sales
• Hard working and a willingness to learn
• Enjoy working in a friendly, fun and diverse team

• Training and experience as an Assistant Manager within the clothing and Accessories department
• Gain experience of working in a fast paced, busy and hugely successful retail environment. Many of our interns have gone on to full employment or other roles within Oxfam or similar charity
