Intern Assistant Manager (Wood Green,London)

Context:

This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a busy, vibrant and successful Oxfam Shop in London. You will be joining the Shop Manager and given relevant training as required to enable you to help run all aspects of this busy shop. During this time you will gain managerial and retail experience while joining a fun and friendly team.

Frequency: Up to 3 days per week for 3/6 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager in the daily running of the shop
  • Take responsibility for the operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manger (once fully trained)
  • Assist the Manager to recruit and train new volunteers, manage and motivate existing volunteers to help us achieve great results
  • Cash handling, financial management, till work, merchandising and general administrative tasks
  • Option to specialize in a particular department. i.e books, clothing, Fairtrade, new product

  • Honesty, reliability, integrity and commitment to the shop and Oxfam's values
  • Motivating teams and maximising sales
  • Hard working and a willingness to learn
  • Enjoy working in a friendly, fun and diverse team
