These internships (2 roles available) are based in the Youth & Schools team in Oxfam's UK Campaigns department. We have two internships available our regional offices in Manchester.
The department is focused on building a movement of people in the UK who believe in a world without poverty, and working with local media and politicians to raise the profile of Oxfam's campaigns and tackle the root causes of poverty. Our current campaigns are GROW and Health & Education For All.
The Youth & Schools team aims to equip young people with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to be active global citizens, and join the global movement for change.
This is an exciting role that will focus on supporting Oxfam's regional work in schools and with young people, and in supporting volunteers who work in schools.
Some UK travel will be required for this role especially within the region as face-to-face work with schools will be an important element of the role. All work related travel costs will be reimbursed.
This is an ideal opportunity for a pro-active individual looking to gain experience of working in schools and with young people within the voluntary sector.
You will receive training for your role and have the ongoing support of Oxfam's Youth & Schools Team.
Frequency: 2 days per week for 6 months satrting in April.
