Oxjam Regional Support Executives (South East)(3 opportunities available)

Context:

Oxjam:

Oxjam is a music festival made up of hundreds of events happening around the UK throughout October, all of which are organized by volunteers who know and love their local music scene. These volunteers are all united by a shared goal - to raise money to support Oxfam's vital work fighting poverty and suffering around the world. Oxjam events include everything from massive club nights to mountain-top busking; from up-and-coming rock bands to the local church choir - all showcasing the best of local musical talent. Local music, global impact.

The highlight of the festival are the Oxjam Takeovers: amazing multi-venue events which take place nationwide over the course of one weekend in October, organised by some of our most committed and experienced volunteers. The teams who run these events raise, on average, about ten times more than most other Oxjam event organisers, so ensuring that they get the guidance and support they need is absolutely crucial to the success of the festival.

2012 saw 17 incredible Takeover events take place across the South East - from Southampton to Shoreditch and Brighton to Brixton.

The Oxjam Regional Support Executive Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the success of the UK's biggest music festival.

The Regional Support Executive (RSE) role is a vital part of the core team of staff and interns that coordinate Oxjam, working with Takeover teams and other volunteers across the country to help them plan and deliver the biggest and best events possible to raise money for Oxfam.

Using their leadership and communication skills, pro-active attitude and ability to problem-solve, they will manage and support Oxjam Takeover Managers and teams, as well as working to recruit and provide guidance to other volunteer organisers.
