Regional Public Affairs Intern (Manchester)

Context:

Working with the Regional Public Affairs Coordinator to support regional political engagement work.

The role will involve some evening and weekend work. Days worked must be 2 out of Mon, Tues or Wed

To help develop links with politically influential groups across the region on particular campaign issues
Support work to engage with Oxfam activists interested in building influence with politicians
To help raise profile of Oxfam's campaigns in key constituencies across the region

Strong communication skills. Good telephone manner and ability to build relationships. Experience of social media and good writing skills
Knowledge of campaigning and experience of working with community groups and campaigners
Understanding of the UK political system
Experience of organising events
Confidence and ability to work with minimum supervision
A commitment to Oxfam's campaign aims to end poverty and suffering

Experience of working in a campaigning role to influence a political audience
Experience of managing a project to help develop a campaigning presence in 'target' constituencies
Experience of working with political groups across the region
Reasonable lunch and travel expenses will be covered
