Context:
The Role is for an enthusiastic volunteer who is happy to take responsibility of the shop for a few hours a week.
Frequency: 2 shifts a week ideally 1 afternoon and a Saturday morning. Shifts are normally 4 hours long. So the morning shift is 09:30-13:30 and the afternoon shift is 12:30- 16:30.
Key responsibilities:
If they are on a morning shift then the role required them to open the shop and coordinate with the other volunteers to efficiently prioritise the work load for the day.
On an afternoon shift the role requires the volunteer to take responsibility for the closing down of the shop including, cashing up of the till, or supervision of other volunteers during this task and securing premises at the end of the day.
Skills and competencies:
- Good team work
- Some retail experience would be a benefit but is not essential as full training will be given
- Good communication skills
- Must show reliability and trustworthiness
- A basic knowledge and understanding of numeracy
- Good organisational skills
