Key responsibilities:

  • Making arrangements with local councils and organizations to put on cash collections in public places and railway stations
  • Recruiting and organizing a group of volunteers to help with collections and events
  • Promoting Oxfam's emergency response work and encouraging people within your local community to support Oxfam
  • Publicizing fundraising collections and events
  • Contacting local community groups or businesses to get involved with emergency fundraising
  • It may also involve organizing small-scale fundraising events and activities

Skills and competencies:

  • Well-organized and capable of coordinating fundraising activities
  • Passion and enthusiasm for responding to humanitarian crises
  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to ask people to get involved
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

What this role can offer the volunteer:

  • You will be making an important contribution to Oxfam's life-saving work, helping Oxfam respond to emergencies when they occur
  • You will see tangible results from your fundraising activities and have the satisfaction of knowing every pound raised has helped those in desperate need

  • The opportunity to develop existing skills and gain experience in fundraising
  • Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed where agreed
