Volunteer HR Assistant

Context:

Corporate HR is a busy department which looks after the HR needs of staff worldwide. There are several teams within the department, such as Operational HR, Pay and Benefits, Learning and Development, HR Policy, HR Systems, Recruitment & Resourcing. We are looking for a volunteer to work with the HR team dealing with Operational HR for mainly UK based staff.

Frequency: Hours and days are flexible up to a maximum of 3 days per week, however a minimum of 10 hours per week is required. Ideally at least for 3 months.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to the Corporate HR Team including producing and sending basic HR letters, contracts of employment and maintaining personnel files
  • Recruitment support, including liaising with managers and candidates, advertising vacancies, monitoring applications, logistical support for interviews
  • Answering the phone, taking messages, dealing with basic queries and escalating if appropriate
  • Data inputting and producing a range of reports and statistics for managers

Skills and competencies:

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work unsupervised with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative to solve problems
  • Discretion in handling personal and confidential information
  • Pleasant customer service manner and personal credibility
  • Live within 10 miles of Oxford
  • Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK
