New Products Volunteer (Stony Startford, Milton Keynes)

Context:

Oxfam was the first charity shop to sell its own line of Christmas cards. Since then we've expanded our range of new products to include organic, recycled and Fair Trade items. New products are items which Oxfam buys to sell in our shops. We have a strong commitment to new products and you will help to contribute towards our sales growth in this range. This is an exciting volunteer opportunity as you get not only valuable experience but will also be a valuable member of our friendly and committed team of volunteers. Whether you've a lot of retail experience or none, you'll receive the training and support you need.

Frequency: 1 to 2, 4-hour shifts a week.

Key responsibilities:

  • To action any updates arising from our new products bulletin (this could be delivery changes or out of stock items)
  • To update any price changes to our stock.
  • Managing the ordering, replenishment and display of new product food items.
  •  Promoting new products
  • To work with the area new products specialist

Skills and competencies:

  • Team work
  • Computer skills (training will be provided)
  • Willingness to learn about our new products food range
  • Good communicator
