HR Volunteer Assistant

Context:

The HR Team provides Support to the Trading Division's staff and managers. We have 700 shops, and approx 1,000 paid employees, located throughout the UK.

Frequency: 3 days per week

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Admin Team Leader and Administrators in delivering the implementation of the New Absence Management System over the period March-May. Specifically, this will mean checking employees holiday calculations are correct before they get uploaded onto the system.
  • Continuing to chase Personal Data Verification Information.
  • Inputting Shop Accident Forms onto a computer database
  • Producing a range of range of reports and accident statistics for managers
  • General administrative duties to support the Health and Safety Advisor and assist the H. R. Department

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent computer skills with good knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Email)
  • Able to manage tasks from two very different aspects of HR in Health and Safety and Absence Management
  • Able to work unsupervised with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • An interest in HR, specifically Absence Management and Health and Safety
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact at all Levels within the organisation
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Pleasant customer service manner
  • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to interpret hand-written forms
  • Although this is a volunteer position, you need to provide current proof of right to work
