Fundraising Group Leader (Various Locations)

Context:

Oxfam's Fundraising Groups are teams of volunteers who work together to raise vital funds for Oxfam's work to alleviate poverty and suffering worldwide.

 

Group fundraising activities can be anything and everything - from duck races to gala dinners, sponsored walks to music events.

As the group continues to grow we are now looking for enthusiastic individuals to help develop our local fundraising events - with roles ranging from logistic management, to publicity and promotion, and on-the-day coordination.

 

Whatever you and the group choose to do, the Oxfam fundraising team will be on hand to offer help and advice every step of the way. 

Frequency: Flexible, 2 - 4 hours per week, at times to suit you!

Locations: Malmesbury, Cirencester, Taunton.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking the lead in fundraising ideas and steering them into practice.
  • Lead and project manage your fundraising activities, including delegating key roles and responsibilities to everyone in your group.
  • Manage and motivate your group to deliver the fundraising activities.
  • Chair regular group meetings (it's up to you how often you meet).
  • Encourage people within your local community to support Oxfam and your group.
  • Be the main point of contact for the group to the Oxfam regional team.
  • You will have a key role in raising funds in your local area to support the work of Oxfam in alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide.
  • With the support of Oxfam's regional team, you will recruit friends, family and colleagues, or likeminded individuals in your community, to join your group.
