Emergency Fundraising Volunteer (Solihull)

Context:

Want to do something different and exciting in 2013 and make a real lasting impact? Become the Emergency Fundraising Volunteer for Solihull and alleviate poverty and suffering worldwide!

Oxfam's Emergency Fundraising Volunteers are motivated individuals take part in fundraising in response to a disaster appeal. You may be asked to help out at fundraising events which have been organised by the fundraising coordinator in the Solihull area. This fundraising may involve street collections as well as other types of fundraising events. You can offer as much or as little time as you want, and if you want to put on your own fundraisers there will be plenty of support from Oxfam to help you do so.

Frequency: On average just a day or a few hours a month or at times of Emergency. Not a weekly commitment.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will have a vital role in raising funds to support Oxfam's emergency response work
  • Help out at large scale local fundraising events. For example street collections or football matches
  • Initiate local fundraising. e.g. distribute collection tins in local businesses
  • The opportunity to organise small fundraising events such as coffee mornings and pub quizzes if you wish
  • Work as part of a group of volunteers
  • Encourage people within your local community to support Oxfam

Skills and competencies:

  • Be motivated
  • Lots of enthusiasm.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to ask people to get involved
