Shop Campaign Champions Coordinator (Glasgow)

Context:

Oxfam Scotland's Campaigns Team works with a wide range of organisations and individuals to promote global justice. Volunteers play a key role in the team, helping deliver campaign activities on areas including economic justice and health and education.  Oxfam's shop network is the face of Oxfam in towns and cities across Scotland.  This role will work with specific shop volunteers to link the shop and campaign teams more strongly.

Frequency: Up to 5 hours per week, flexible. For 6 months (with possibility of extension).

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with shop volunteers to inspire local Oxfam campaigning activities
  • This includes coordinating the Shop Campaign Champion scheme
  • Producing communications and opportunities for shop volunteers to engage with campaigns
  • Organising training and networking events for shop and campaigns volunteers
  • Networking (work together) with other organisations/volunteer groups that work in similar areas - to run joint events and work together when appropriate

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outgoing people person, good at managing relationships, team working and networking.
  • Commitment to Oxfam's values and purpose.
  • Knowledge of Oxfam's campaigning issues is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Oxfam Shop operations is an advantage.
