PR Volunteer Assistant (Spalding)

We are looking for a Public Relations volunteer whose duties would involve liaising with the local media and other organizations such as businesses and schools to explain Oxfam's work and mission and to encourage support. The position may involve some administrative work.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, "people" person, and/or a person with or seeking public relations experience.

A minimum of three hours per week. The time and the day of the week are flexible, the hours would be between 9 am and 5 pm.

• Improving media coverage of the shop
• Securing cooperative relations with local partners
• Answering queries about Oxfam and its mission
• Securing sources of donations
• Undertaking correspondence and administrative work

• No retail or PR experience is necessary. We're looking for people who:
• Are friendly, reliable and interested in helping others
• Are able to work independently and as part of a team
• Possess a flair for communication and a desire to meet new people

• PR experience
• Working with like-minded people
• An interesting and varied experience of voluntary work
