Fundraising Group Leader (Stourbridge)

Context:

 Want to do something different and exciting in 2013 and make a real lasting impact? Lead your local Oxfam Fundraising Group in Stourbridge into action to alleviate poverty and suffering worldwide!

Oxfam's Fundraising Groups are teams of volunteers who work together to raise vital funds for Oxfam whilst having loads of fun along the way.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to inspire a team of volunteers to organise fun and diverse events throughout the year, giving them direction and motivation to ensure each event is an amazing success!

Fundraising Group events can vary greatly- existing groups have arranged Cocktail making workshops, Garden Parties, Wine tasting evening and even a Murder Mystery event. The possibilities are endless!

Flexible, 2 - 4 hours a week, times and days to suit you

Key responsibilities:

  • You will have a vital role in raising funds to support the work of Oxfam in alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide
  • Setting up the new fundraising group and planning your calendar of events
  • Organising and promoting fundraising events and collections with other group members
  • Encouraging people within your local community to support Oxfam and your group
  • Attending regular meetings with your group (monthly), giving the team direction.
  • Motivating a group of volunteers to fundraising success!

Skills and competencies:

  • Lots of enthusiasm!
  • Experience of volunteering or working in a marketing role would be desirable, as would experience of working with the media - however this is not crucial
  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to ask people to get involved are important too
