Fundraising Group Member (Worcester)(Sutton Coldfield)

Oxfam's Fundraising Groups are teams of volunteers who work together to raise vital funds for Oxfam's work to alleviate poverty and suffering worldwide. We are now starting some new and exciting Fundraising Groups in Worcester and Sutton Coldfield!

Fundraising Group events can vary greatly- existing groups have arranged Cocktail making workshops, Garden Parties, Wine tasting evening and even a Murder Mystery event. The possibilities are endless! There are roles to suit everyone - like putting up posters, speaking to your local newspaper, managing event logistics, and using social media to get the group's word out - all we ask for is lots of enthusiasm!

Frequency: Flexible, 2 - 4 hours a week, times and days to suit you!

• You will have a vital role in raising funds to support the work of Oxfam in alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide
• Setting up the new fundraising group and planning your calendar of events
• Organising and promoting fundraising events and collections with other group members
• Encouraging people within your local community to support Oxfam and your group
• Attending regular meetings with your group (monthly)
• There's sure to be a role that fits your skills and experiences - all skills and backgrounds considered!
• Maybe your forte is marketing or speaking to the media, or maybe you're the ideas person. Just importantly, the group will need a cash-counting extraordinaire!

• Lots of enthusiasm!
• Experience of volunteering or working in a marketing role would be desirable, as would experience of working with the media - however this is not crucial
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to ask people to get involved are important too

• This is your chance to help change the world and make a real difference to people living in poverty and suffering worldwide
• Have a voice in Oxfam and its work
• Work as a member of your local group but also as part of the wider Oxfam community
• Have fun and develop your skills with a team of inspiring people
