What should my Oxfam Get Together be?

How does my fundraising make a difference?
Oxfam puts women's rights at the heart of all we do so you know that the money you raise will truly transform lives around the world. As well as overseas Oxfam also works to empower and enable women living in the UK to transform their lives. Our cause blog is regularly updated with stories from the field and updates on projects your money supports.
Is the Oxfam Get Together just for women?
Definitely not, it's for everyone and anyone. Anyone can host or attend an Oxfam Get Together and the perfect thing about being able to host whatever even, wherever you like is that you can make sure it's something your friends, family or colleagues will really enjoy!
Do I have to raise a certain amount?
No. By joining us as a host you're part of ensuring that together we raise as much money as possible to support women living in poverty around the world. So whether you raise £50 or £5000, you'll be a part of transforming lives.
I am feeling nervous about my event - is there any support available?
It's normal to want your event to be a success and to raise a lot. By joining our online community you'll be able to chat to past and present hosts as well as pick up top tips to ensure your event goes with a bang.
How do I pay in my fundraising?
In your fundraising toolkit there is a page which explains the process of paying in. You can pay in your total fundraising amount online or write a cheque payable to 'Oxfam' and put it in the freepost envelope in your pack along with the paying in form.
Can I Gift Aid my fundraising?
Yes please! If you or your guests are UK tax payers then Oxfam can claim an extra 25% on your donation. Use the back page of your booklet at your event and ask each guest to fill in their details when they are making a donation and then tick the gift aid box. As long as their details are clear and correct we'll be able to claim an extra 25%. Thank you!
I do not live in the UK - can I still join you all and hold an Oxfam Get Together?
It's great you want to join us in hosting an Oxfam Get Together. Due to the expenses involved, I'm afraid that we are unable to support our overseas event hosts by posting items to them. However, we didn't want anyone to miss out on our fantastic resources so we have added a selection of them to our website instead, you can download them here.
