Community Change

Community Change is a 3-day residential training course, run by Oxfam staff, where you'll learn how to campaign and make an impact in the fight against poverty and suffering.
Community Change is open to anyone over the age of 18, and is held in five cities around the UK.
What will you gain from the course?
You’ll gain far more than we can write here from the training, but, in short, you will:
- receive specialist training on Oxfam’s campaigns by professional staff
- meet like-minded people, and form links and networks
- be provided with ongoing support from Oxfam after the event
- learn how to make an impact in the fight against poverty and suffering
- enjoy yourself!
What do we ask in return?
To take part in Community Change, we ask that:
- you're passionate about making a difference
- you put the skills and knowledge you learn to good use in your own community
- you agree to campaign for six months after the course (this works out as about a few hours a month, depending on how you choose to fit campaigning around your life)
How do I apply?
Community Change 2008 is now full. But it's not all bad news! If you're aged between 18 and 25 you can apply for our Youth Change programme, or check these pages again in a few months time to find out how to apply for Community Change 2009.

"I’ve come away feeling really inspired which is so very refreshing. Best of all we've had a real laugh together whilst learning so much at the same time."
