Wanted: 6m health workers and teachers

Today is Thursday, my favourite day. We run an antenatal clinic today. The clinic is full and I really feel like I'm reaching women. Even more women would come if the medicines were free.

Fatoumata, Obstetrician, Mali

Fatoumata is helping to save the lives of pregnant women, but other women are not so lucky, millions are still not accessing the midwives, maternity wards and medicines they need for a safe pregnancy and delivery.

The world needs free public health care and education. The world needs six million more trained teachers and health workers. And to make this happen, the world needs you.

Sign the '6 Million More' pledge

We want six million people to join the growing global movement demanding health and education for all. We want six million of you to join people like Fatoumata by pledging your support :

“I care about people's right to health and education.  I am ready to take action, and to call for action from Governments and institutions to ensure quality healthcare and education for all people. Change is possible.”
