Activist Board open to new activists!

Oxfam’s Campaigns Department is relaunching the Activist Board – a panel of activists that work with us to design and evaluate campaign strategies, actions, materials and resources.

We are now opening up the Board to new members and changing the way it works. The new structure of the Activist Board will make use of individual’s specialist skills and interests to improve member’s engagement and ownership over campaigns.

Are you an Oxfam Activist? Are you interested in using your expertise and skills to help Oxfam shape campaigns and actions? Do you think your personal experience will be helpful for Oxfam’s decisions? Then we would love you to join the new Activist Board! You don’t have to have bagfuls of experience to be a member of the board however; we want new campaigners too, for a fresh perspective on things!

Since the Board was set up, members have been involved with a variety of actions, including advising us on our supporter strategy, helping us to design recruitment materials and newsletters, and providing us with vital input on whether or not Oxfam should engage in more ‘edgy campaigning’.

To sign up for the new Activist Board, download the activist profiling form. By filling this in and sending it back to activistboard@oxfam.org.uk, you can tell us exactly which campaigns and issues you wish to be involved in, how you want that involvement to be, how often you want to be contacted and how much notice you need. Then when opportunities come up, we will only contact you if they suit your needs and interests.
