The Change programme

Application deadline extended!
The Change programme is an inspirational training programme for people in the UK who want to make change in the community around them. Change activists build networks of people, motivating others to get involved in Oxfam’s campaigns, and inspiring them to speak out about poverty and suffering.

The Change programme is aimed at adults in the UK of all ages (over-18) who can demonstrate a commitment to making change happen. They will attend a free, residential training event on 2-5 September 2011 in Loughborough, and then undertake a 6-month programme of campaigning in their town or university campus, on a voluntary basis. As part of their programme, they will also help to organise training events, to share their learning with others, as well as building networks of like-minded people taking action.
Former Change activists have gone on to do amazing things, from founding the UK Youth Climate Coalition and tracking climate negotiators at UN conferences, to creating local groups of people taking action against poverty.

If you are interested in becoming a Change activist, please fill out the application form (please note, course only applicable to UK residents) and return it to active@oxfam.org.uk by 17 June 2011. Applicants will be interviewed, and successful candidates will be informed by the end of June.
