Get your friends together to watch a film and join the fight against climate change from your living room!

Last year... hundreds of film parties took place ahead of the UN climate conference in Poznan in December to raise awareness of how climate change affects the world's poorest people.

This year... you have another chance to join Oxfam supporters all over the world in hosting film parties during October as part of our month of action ahead of the climate negotiations in Copenhagen this December.

Little party. Big impact.

Rising sea levels, changes in weather patterns, unpredictable seasons - climate change is already devastating poor people's lives. Action needs to be taken NOW to stop climate change driving developing countries further into poverty.

Hosting a film screening, even with just a small group of friends, is the perfect way to get people talking about climate change, and to show the government just how important it is that immediate action is taken.

Plan for action

Hopefully after watching the films your guests will want to take action on climate change themselves. There’s lots they can do, from personal actions that reduce their own carbon footprint, to telling the politicians that they must do more as well. Here's how to get them started:

1. Order climate change posters, petition forms and action cards for people to sign on the night.
2. Record a short video on your mobile telling others why you are holding your film party and why they should take action too. Upload it to YouTube to reach the masses. The more humorous it is, the more hits you’ll get.
3. Go on line and tell the Prime Minister to go to the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen in December, and push other world leaders for a fair and safe global deal on climate change.
