Challs International, the UK manufacturer of the Buster brand of plughole unblocking and treatment products, is supporting the 2009 National Plughole Week (20th-27th July). This week aims to raise awareness of poor sanitation in developing countries and raise vital funds for Oxfam’s water and sanitation work around the world.

Throughout June and July, in the build up to National Plughole Week, Challs International will be donating five pence to Oxfam for every Buster product it sells. Buster products are sold through major supermarkets and the partnership with Oxfam aims to raise over £8,000 to help provide clean water and sanitation facilities to countries where unclean water claims many lives.

Louise Perry, Buster brand manager said: “Our support for National Plughole Week and Oxfam is the highlight of our 2009 marketing campaign. The aim is to get people thinking about their domestic plugholes and how fortunate they are with sanitation in the UK, compared to conditions in developing countries. Buster is a caring brand and our link with Oxfam means we will be helping to save many lives.”

National Plughole Week activities include competitions in the national media, a local schools education project and an online competition at www.plugholesneedlovetoo.com/plugholeweek with the opportunity to win a spa break or a Buster hamper. You can also follow the week’s activities on Twitter.
