Clymac Ltd are based in Loughborough and provide fire and security systems throughout the UK.  For the past 2 years Clymac have been supporting our work in Malawi. Clymac contacted Oxfam, as they wanted to contribute to one of our projects and to make a significant difference to the lives of poor people.

In Malawi, where one in seven adults are living with HIV and AIDS, Oxfam with the support of Clymac are working with communities helping them with every aspect of their lives: to grow more food, to earn more, to have health care and treatment, and promote prevention education.

In November 2007, a representative from Clymac saw first hand the devastating affects HIV and AIDS has on communities in Malawi, and the work that Oxfam is doing to overcome these.

“I cannot convey the difference between reading about the problems faced by communities in Malawi and actually seeing them. The Oxfam staff, partners and community leaders illustrated what can be achieved with passion, drive, and the vision to see through these problems. Nothing could have prepared me for the humbling experience of meeting such inspirational people. I constantly reflect back on the magnitude of the problems we saw and the way in which the project supports communities to face such daily challenges.”
