The Monsoon Accessorize Trust was set up in 1994 to mark Monsoon's 21st birthday.

The Trust aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and women in Asia. This area was chosen in light of Monsoon's long established trading links with the region.

Oxfam have begun a three-year partnership with Monsoon Accessorize, which includes Monsoon’s generous support of cotton farmers, garment workers and weavers in India.

These communities, an obvious area of interest for Monsoon, often contend with appalling working conditions, unstable wages and severe drought, all of which affects their livelihoods.

Monsoon’s support will help Oxfam improve incomes, working conditions and quality of life for people working across the cotton industry through training in organic farming techniques, helping handloom weavers to secure new markets, and factory workers to speak up for their rights and challenge their appalling working conditions.

‘The Monsoon Accessorize Trust is proud to be supporting this project which highlights Monsoon’s links with India and the development of our Fairtrade and Organic ranges.  This is a project that will have a long-term impact and benefit both the local population and the environment.’
