Meet the Festivals team

Lisa Morris – Festival Shop Manager

Lisa Morris, Festival Shop ManagerMy Oxfam adventure started when I volunteered for a week at the Hebden bridge shop during a few days off my then job as a children’s nanny. Ten years later I am still here. I began by managing a number of Oxfam shops around Yorkshire and Derbyshire before taking up my role as festival shop manager last year.

I have always loved festivals and live music, from my first Glastonbury in the late 80s through to the present day. The combination of the festival atmosphere, the music and Oxfam has led me to believe I have the best job in the world...remind me of this when I’m loading a wagon the day before Bestival! We have to strike the right balance between packing enough waterproofs, wellies and knitted blankets for unprepared festival goers and taking enough glam and glittery items to inspire our customers to be imaginative in creating their own style.

Last year I was so lucky to have such a fantastic team of volunteers who consistently worked above and beyond the call of duty leading to a record-breaking season which we hope to smash again this year!

Fran Tutt – Deputy Festival Shop Manager

Fran Tutt, Deputy Festival Shop ManagerI started volunteering at my local Oxfam when I was just 17 for extra fashion experience and was enticed to stay with the possibility of going to a festival. I have now been volunteering at the Oxfam festival shop for four years, have been an Oxfam fashion merchandising intern and managed an Oxfam shop in north London for 18 months before becoming the deputy festival shop manager.

What kept me coming back for years of mud and sun burn is meeting other volunteers from Oxfam shops all over the country. We always have a great team and together transform an empty shell of a marquee into a beautiful, exciting visual treat of Oxfam clothing, fancy dress and fashion. As a fashion graduate one of my favourite parts at the Oxfam festival shop is customising items for customers to wear – especially getting men into dresses!

This year I am really excited to be a part of the Oxfam festival shop team and hope to see you there!

Lee Craggs – Volunteer Festival Shop Manager

Lee Craggs, Volunteer Festival Shop ManagerIn my day job I am an Oxfam shop manager in Huddersfield and have worked across three shops in the area over five years with Oxfam. I have been a festival-goer since I was 16, so as I’m sure you will understand, I jumped at the chance to help out with the festival shops. I have managed the Reading festival shop as well as being a shift supervisor at others. I am proud to say that year was a record year for sales at Reading. This could not have been achieved without the fantastic team of volunteers who worked hard and just as importantly, had fun, making a great atmosphere for our customers.

The festival shops are an amazing way of raising money and communicating with others about Oxfam’s work. We also have the opportunity to show off to thousands of people the great products Oxfam offer in over 700 shops around the UK.

In my spare time I play football, listen to music and watch Sunderland AFC. My favourite festival is Bestival for the music, fun atmosphere, and the fancy dress theme, making the shop highly entertaining and helping hundreds improvise and squeeze into the most weird and wonderful outfits.

Adrian Hughes – Volunteer Festival Shop Manager

Adrian Hughes, Volunteer Festival Shop ManagerHello, I have been a music lover from an early age but sadly failed as a musician.  So I also volunteered at an Oxfam shop, which then led to a fairly successful career of 20 years managing a number of Oxfam shops. I worked with lots of volunteers during this time and last year enjoyed taking time out to help with the festival shops. The Latitude festival last year was particularly memorable, we were all amazed how much we sold during a relatively small festival. Glastonbury 2008 was another highlight for me, as I love American music and was thrilled to finally see Neil Young.
