The virtual world is great for promoting your plans through blogs and social networks, for collecting donations, and for finding out what other fundraisers are doing all over the country.

Tell all your friends what your upto via facebook, or create a facebook event, or create a Facebook group.

Start a blog to give everyone all the info about what you’re up to.

Use Twitter to give everyone up-to-the minute updates.

E-fundraising sites are great ways to spread the word about your fundraising, and ensure that donations reach us without you having to do the leg work of chasing your sponsors.

They also allow you to reach friends and family further afield, and keep your sponsors up to date with how your preparations are going.

Oxfam’s preferred e-fundraising site is Virgin Money Giving based on the low costs and the great support they’re offering.

Oxfam can still receive donations from other sites such as JustGiving but to ensure that more of your fundraising reaches the people that need it most, we recommend that you use Virgin Money Giving to promote your fundraising.
