There are so many Oxjam events happening round the country this October, that we can't possibly write about them all in the detail they deserve. Click here to search for events near you.

Awkward Silence: Funk, Soul & DubStep Edition

Thursday 29th October - The New Black Project in association with Oxjam brings you Awkward silence: DJ{146}s on the night will be playing the very best of dub, dubstep , funk, dnb, soul & hip hop. East Village 89 Great Eastern Street Shoreditch EC2A 3HX

The Oxjam Takeover

This October sees our first ever Oxjam Takeover events - there are 23 more of them happening throughout the month, up and down the country. At each one, you get one wristband, and that gets you into up to 10 different venues, with the chance to see up to 100 different bands.

Oxjam@Matter

Oxjam @ Matter, October 16, O2 London

Cool To Be Kind have just announced pioneering 80s supergroup ABC as headliners for their Oxjam event at Matter in the O2 on October 16th. ABC will be fronting Oxjam at Matter with a 40 minute live concert, showcasing their hits Tears Are Not Enough, Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love and All Of My Heart.

Also on the line-up are:
Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, MYLO, Kissy Sell Out, Dan Black, MPHO, Addictive TV, Robotwon

Another highlight will be the super stylish OXFAM DIY shop. Hot off a tour of all the major music festivals including Glastonbury Leeds and Bestival the shop arrives at Matter and will be hosted by non other than Mrs Jones, designer and stylist to the stars. Fee Doran, aka Mrs Jones, is famed for her pop star creations which include Kylie's 'Can't get you out of my head' white hooded suit and most recently The Killers' Brandon Flowers 'Best Dressed' looks. She has also worked with Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon, Madonna, Duran Duran, Scissor Sisters and Goldfrapp.

The shop will have it's own private bar, dance floor and DJ booth with special celebrity guests spinning the decks (including The Hoosiers, Kiss FM's Loose Cannon DJs, and celeb DJ Tom Guinness). Designers and exhibitors from London Fashion week are supporting the night by donating limited edition and custom made pieces for guests to bid for and win. (The list includes, for example, Angel Jackson, who is donating a limited edition bag; Doc Martens, who are providing a VIP experience to visit the factory and customise your own vintage; and Melissa, donating limited edition shoes by Zaha Hadid, Vivienne Westwood, Joy flocado+Alex. H.) Further to these amazing prizes, stars such as Duran Duran, Kylie, The Petshop Boys, Basement Jaxx and Kasabian have also donated 'money can't buy packages' to include in the Supestar Auction.

OX4

On Saturday, 10th October, the guys who run Truck and Wood festivals will present the inaugural OX4 festival in Oxford. As well as amazing music across ten venues, there will also be workshops and Oxford's first ever Un-Convention!

Acts already confirmed include The Big Pink, Amazing Baby, Jonquil, Dalek, Action Beat, This Town Needs Guns, Witches, Stricken City, Baby Gravy, Dial F For Frankenstein, Susty & The Dreaming Spires, Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, Matt Sage & The Medicine, and Ute.

Workshops include designing the sleeve for the Magic Numbers' new LP, writing a film script, making a music video, recording a single in a mobile studio, and learning about climate change and green culture.

This event is all about getting involved, so come along and get inspired.

OXJAM Richmond

An intimate gig showcasing three up-and-coming bands from the South East, as well as music from Hannah Dorman - singer/songwriter and host of the event.

Acts include The Critical, Franko and Narration - all must-see local talent that is guaranteed to impress.

It's set to be an amazing night of music, and Hannah has pledged to try and raise a fantastic £800 for Oxjam.

It's happening on Saturday, 3rd October 2009, and tickets are on sale now.
