Oxfam Trailtrekker – 100km team charity challenge

Oxfam Trailtrekker is the 100km charity challenge across the Yorkshire Dales national park, starting and finishing in Skipton.

Teams of four trek through the night to complete the course in under 30 hours. It’s an amazing experience that combines endurance, navigation, determination, and teamwork, into a truly memorable achievement.

Trailtrekker will test you and your team physically as you take on this charity challenge and creatively as you work on hitting your fundraising target.

Volunteer at Trailtrekker

An essential part of the Trailtrekker charity challenge are the fantastic volunteers, who play a key role in making the event a success.

For 2010 we need over 300 of them, so let us know if you're interested and we will get back to you. You’ll be making a real contribution to Oxfam’s work, while having a memorable and worthwhile weekend.

What you need to sign up

  • The details of the three people to complete your team of four. Share with friends.
  • Someone to lead your support crew.
  • To sign up to hitting the minimum fundraising pledge of £2,000. With £1,000 paid to Oxfam by 5 May 2010.
  • A credit or debit card to pay the £200 registration fee (£100 if you register before 30 November, £150 if you register before 31 January).
  • To agree to our terms and conditions.

  • Detailed fundraising resource on this website with downloads, links and tips.
  • Pre-walk face-to-face preparation meetings with updates on all aspects of the challenge.

  • Food, massages and cheering to help you around the course!

What happens after sign up?

  • We’ll send out a welcome pack to all team members.
  • All the team will start to get emails from us to prepare you for your walking and fundraising challenges.
  • We’ll send you a Trailtrekker tee-shirt and Training and Event guide in early March.

The Trailtrekker charity challenge route takes in 100km of beautiful scenery across the Yorkshire Dales national park. Starting and finishing in Skipton you head out over Malham Cove and Pen-y-ghent before looping round past Buckden and Conistone on your return. If you’re after a charity challenge that takes in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the UK then look no further!

History of the event

Trailtrekker is only in its second year but its family history goes back over 25 years with Oxfam’s international 100km event - Trailwalker.

Live feed

On the day of the event we host a live blog that lets your supporters around the world track your progress. They can see which checkpoints you have reached and send messages of encouragement. The blog was a great success in 2009 and is an ideal way for your supporters to get an experience of the challenge your going through.
