One more Fairtrade product

Fairtrade is sold in more than 60 countries across the world. It supports the livelihoods of an impressive 7.5 million people, from 58 developing countries. Not too shabby, considering the Fair Trade movement only started in the 1980s.

As a result of receiving a fair price, poor farmers are able to improve their business, send their children to school, and feed their families.

But despite its extraordinary growth, Fairtrade sales remain relatively small - for every £395 spent on all food and drink in UK, only £1 is spent on Fairtrade.

Committing to buy at least one Fairtrade product a week can only be a good thing - for your tastebuds, and for poor farmers too.
