Don't get rid – get recycling
Oxfam and the UK Youth Parliament have joined forces to encourage young people across the UK to set up recycling collections in their schools.
Set up a recycling collection
Every year, 18 million new mobile phones are bought, yet fewer than five per cent of old and unwanted handsets are recycled. Any unwanted mobile phones can be recycled, along with iPods, digital cameras, inkjet cartridges and PDAs. We can turn all the collected gadgets into things like schoolbooks, tools for farming, and clean water for families in developing countries.
