Cornbury festival

Cornbury festival review

We'd like to give a massive thank you to everyone who stewarded at this year's Cornbury festival in June.

Cornbury festival

What to expect:
Cornbury is a laid back, country picnic type affair, it has 2 days of live music, is set in the grounds of Charlbury Park, the stewarding is a close knit community and we work closely alongside the organisers to make the festival happen. It’s a great introduction to Oxfam stewarding for first timers.

Review:
Cornbury 2008 was a wet affair, although the rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the Oxfam volunteers. We were back to our old camping area of 2006. The Oxbox was a little way from where we camped but was a good base for the stewarding operation.

This year we were again responsible for the campsites and arena. Everyone pulled together despite the rain to pull off another successful stewarding start to the year.

Cornbury only has 2 nights of music aimed at the more mature festival audience, it has the feel of a country picnic at times, and stewarding can be interesting with a more demanding customer. Cornbury however is a more intimate stewarding affair with a close knit group of stewards working and playing hard.
