Fundraise in your local community
All across the UK people are joining together within their communities to support Oxfam and transform other communities around the world. Join our vibrant network of fundraisers and you'll have a direct impact on people’s lives.
Whether you have a couple of hours to give helping out at one of our collections, or would like to work in a group putting on fantastic fundraising events throughout the year, we have opportunities for you.
Check out our specific volunteering roles to find out how you can get involved.
Join an existing Oxfam Fundraising Group
Oxfam Fundraising Groups are more than just a group of highly valued, loyal and committed supporters of our work. Local fundraising groups raise essential funds for Oxfam, increase our local presence, and bring their community together to rebuild and support communities around the world.
We already have some fabulous groups who would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in their area or supporting their local activities.
In these groups we guarantee you great fun while organising events such as bake sales, car boot sales, quiz nights, ceilidhs and balls, wine tasting, and band nights. It’s all about doing what you love locally, but doing it for Oxfam.
Contact your local community fundraiser to find out where your nearest group is.
Form your own Oxfam Fundraising Group
Why not set up your own fundraising group? It's fun and hugely rewarding, and no experience is necessary. We'll give you all the support and advice you need to get started. Imagine what a difference you can make with a small group of dedicated people – after all, that’s how Oxfam started back in 1942! If you have the passion and drive to change lives, get in touch with your local community fundraiser.
A word from the Bakewell group
The Bakewell fundraising group has been supporting Oxfam for around 30 years. Two friends invited other friends for coffee to talk about Oxfam and, from that gathering, an active group of about ten people evolved. In the years since there have been several different “organisers”, each bringing with them fresh ideas and new volunteers. They now have almost 30 members and other supporters to call on.

A highlight of recent years has been the annual “Open Gardens” days and, along with the usual coffee mornings, street collections, jumble sales and an annual ceilidh and quiz, they are always trying to think of something new:
“We all have a lot of fun organising these events and socialising with one another. Our group is also known for its amazing cake-making skills. Happily our funds raised have increased year on year and for the first time we sent £8,000 to Oxfam this year, which we are glad to know will be used wisely, wherever it is most needed.”
Local collection teams
Our
collection teams always have a ball. Whether they're chatting to people doing
their weekly shopping, or greeting people attending a play or gig they raise
vital funds and awareness throughout their local area.
You can give as little or as much time as you like, either as a team member attending collections whenever you can, or as a local Collection Co-ordinator organising and running collections in your area.
Find vacancies in your local area
Don’t see a local vacancy? Contact your local Community Fundraiser who will let you know about upcoming collections you can get involved in; it’s that simple.
Individual Fundraisers
If you’re planning your own fundraising event, or want to talk through an idea, then get in touch. We always love speaking to our fundraisers, whether it is to offer advice in the lead up to your event, to find out how it went in the days afterwards, to answer any questions that you may have about the work that you are supporting, or simply to have a catch up – call us on 0300 200 1300 or email events@oxfam.org.uk
