Shop Support Team within Trading Division.
Oxfam is the market leader in charity retail 700 shops throughout the UK, with over 21,000 volunteers. The purpose of the Trading Division is to make as much money as possible to fund Oxfam’s work to end poverty.Key Responsibilities:
- Answering a variety of queries that come to the team from Oxfam staff, volunteers, and customers (through email, letter, and on the phone).
- Assisting in preparing regular communications to Shop Teams, such as newsletters and updates of business information.
- Assisting in keeping information up to date (including updating our Intranet site).
- Supporting the Shop Support team in learning about, and working on, various projects (e.g. marketing or shop procedures).
- Analysing the levels and types of query coming into the team, and make recommendations to allow us to ensure that we are responding to the right priorities.
Skills and competences:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Basic PC skills are required (such as use of email and the Internet). Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel would be beneficial.
- Willingness and desire to learn about Oxfam and how its shops operate. Be able to pick up information quickly and be able to apply it when appropriate.
- Ability to work as part of a close team, sharing desks and mucking in when things need to get done.

Sponsored Events Marketing Assistant
Working from home, ideally based in Brighton or Skipton
Commitment:
2 days a week, during work hours (9–5 Mon to Fri)
Context:
The Oxfam events team is looking for two volunteers (one for each area) to help promote its 100km sponsored walks – Trailwalker and Trailtrekker.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help promote these events to various regional audiences.
The objective of this role is to encourage teams to sign-up to our 100km challenges, helping to meet our target number of participants, and to recruit volunteers to help support the events. The role will include locating potential teams & volunteers, calling to arrange meetings and then delivering a presentation of the event.
This role will be supported by the Events team who are based in Oxford.
Key Responsibilities:
- To promote Oxfam’s 100km events. This will include on the phone, face to face, in offices, in shops, to sports clubs, etc. A willingness to travel within the local area is essential.
- Make contact with community groups and organisations to engage them in Oxfam’s work and encourage them to support us
- Recruiting teams to walk in our 100km events
- Recruiting volunteers to help on the weekend of the event
- Take on a crucial role in raising funds to support the work of Oxfam in alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide
Skills and competences:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills
- Good telephone skills - telesales experience would be a plus!
- Presentation skills – you will need to be comfortable presenting to an audience
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- An interest in Oxfam's work and international development
- A good local knowledge is desirable but not essential

Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering a clear Oxjam recruitment strategy. This will involve working to a tight budget, liaising with various media and recruitment contacts and creating effective recruitment material to hit challenging recruitment targets.
- Facilitating the regional manager recruitment process, including assessing candidates’ applications and making recommendations about selection , creating application packs, recruitment schedules and writing interview questionnaires.
- Managing relationships with successful candidates, including organising training conference and materials.

The Supply & Logistics team in Oxford work with Oxfam’s countries and our seven regional centres around the world to improve the supply and delivery of our programmes to beneficiaries. The team have a strategic target to measure and maximise cost effectiveness opportunities in our international logistics operations.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to work with our regional and country Logistics professionals, helping to capture and showcase recent cost saving achievements and future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveying Oxfam’s International Division countries on their cost saving activities and achievements
- Supporting countries and regions to complete survey information
