Our approach to pay is driven by our values. So, for example, in countries
where local pay rates may be particularly low, we always pay our staff
a fair, living wage.
We aim to ensure that pay and benefits always reward our staff fairly for the
remarkable work they do.
All jobs at Oxfam are graded according to a system which aims to ensure equal
pay for work of equal value right across the organisation. The pay scale and
grade for each job are normally advertised at the time of recruitment. In most
cases, the successful candidate will start at the lower end of the pay scale.
Pay is reviewed annually for all staff, and different factors determine pay awards
in different parts of the world.
Nevertheless, all Oxfam staff can expect pay decisions that:
- recognise their contribution
- help Oxfam to keep the staff it needs to do its job
- are affordable to the organisation, and justifiable to our donors.
