Pham Thi Hong Net, Education Programme Advocacy Officer
I started working for Oxfam as an intern after my graduation in 2004, and gradually gained knowledge about development work. The turning point which made me chose development as my career happened after my first field trip visiting an Oxfam project in Ninh Thuan province. I was shocked when I met villagers from the Raglai ethnic minority and saw how poor the people here really were. Reality was so different to what I had been taught at school - that my country was rich in resources and provided equal opportunities for all. Today, I manage Oxfam's education project in
the Dak Nong province, which is in the central highlands.
