Oxfam response to the Queen's Speech

Responding to the announcement in the Queen's Speech of legislation to set up a public registry of beneficial ownership, Sally Copley, Oxfam's Head of UK Policy, said:
"A public registry of ownership will be a big step forward in clamping down on the use of shell companies to dodge tax.
"We're pleased to see the UK government leading the way in this particular area and tackling tax abuse that costs the UK and poor countries billions. Now ministers need to up the pressure on Britain's Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies to follow suit."
