Projects Direct is an opportunity to donate to and support a specific Oxfam project. If you’re passionate about putting an end to poverty, and want to make a connection with a community that is looking for your support, then Projects Direct are for you. Your support makes our work happen. We hope you can join us.
What is Projects Direct?
Projects Direct are about helping you find a project or issue that you feel passionately about – and enabling you to donate specifically to that project. Projects Direct demonstrate the breadth and depth of the work that Oxfam supports around the world, from helping whole communities to protect themselves against disaster, to working with national governments to transform a country’s schools, to helping individual families to earn a living. All Projects Direct offer you the chance to help to change lives.
Who are they aimed at?
You! If you are passionate about helping end poverty. We welcome the donations from of individuals, groups, companies, trusts and foundations. Contact us to talk it through.
Why do we need your help?
It’s the donations from supporters that make positive change in developing countries possible. Oxfam has the relationships with local organisations on the ground, and together we understand the local context. We also have good links with local and national government bodies, but we need your donation to make change happen.

Projects Direct are all part of larger strategic programmes that Oxfam is supporting, and as such, reflect Oxfam’s values and ways of working. Projects are implemented by local organizations, communities and Oxfam, working together.
When do the projects take place?
In general, the projects start in May and continue for 12 months to the following April. Some projects are multi-year and this should be clear from the description of the project.
"I started supporting Oxfam's work during the early 1980s - I recall reading that 35,000 children were dying every day from malnutrition and preventable diseases. That shocked me, and I realized I couldn't stand idly by while this was happening."
"Oxfam combines its grass-roots and advocacy work very well - governments and decision-makers listen to what Oxfam has to say, and take what it says seriously. For me, that's essential."
Dr. Frederick Mulder
"Oxfam has offered me the opportunity to learn more and engage further in issues to which I believe my funding, as an individual, can make the most difference. Not just the easy or most obvious projects, but where I felt my contribution would, I hope, be most valuable. Oxfam has definitely led the way for me in that."
