Oxfam is providing emergency support to people affected by the recent fighting in Pakistan.
In May, conflict in the Swat Valley of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province forced over 2 million people to flee their homes in the most rapidly growing displacement in history.
Oxfam's emergency livelihoods programme is providing support to around 120,000 people, or 15,000 families.
Our work includes running cash-for-work projects, such as drain cleaning (pictured), that help repair damage and provide an income to people with few other means of support.

During the crucial winter planting season, we are also providing farmers with seeds and agricultural tools like those pictured above.

At this distribution of farming seeds, the sign indicates the type and number of goods being distributed, and the contact numbers for any enquiries or complaints.

Here, staff organise a distribution of onion seeds. As well as seeds and tools, participants in the programme also receive fertiliser to help ensure they're able to grow good quality harvests.

Oxfam's work has also included organising community clean-up campaigns such as the one pictured above.
Alongside this, we're giving cash grants to 8,000 vulnerable families to help them buy the basic items they need to rebuild their lives.

Our emergeny response continues to focus on the provision of clean water, sanitation and shelter. This has included distributing hygiene and household items, building latrines, rehabilitating water sources and installing hand pumps and tapstands (pictured).
