Mr Bartolomeus's ancestral land was recently cleared by a palm oil company. The concession, given without the consent of villagers, covers 8,000 hectares. 4,000 has been cleared so far.

Biofuels
Indonesian farmer Mr Bartolomeus stands on his ancestral land, recently cleared by a palm oil company. Palm oil is used for biofuels, the demand for which has taken agricultural land out of production and pushed up food prices, whilst doing little to reduce carbon emissions. It's an injustice with terrible consequences.
