DOROTHEA BUXTON-HYDE BORN IN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND. BEGAN PAINTING AT THE AGE OF FOUR. PAINTED ON PORCELAIN FOR SPODE IN 1958. PROFESSIONAL ARTIST 1978, EXHIBITING IN CRICCIETH ,PORTHMADOC AND BEDDGELLERT, WHILST LIVING IN NORTH WALES. ELECTED A MEMBER OF THE FINE ART TRADE GUILD 1983, UPON HOLDING A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION AT THEIR LONDON GALLERY. DOROTHEA LAUNCHED HER OWN PUBLISHING COMPANY IN 1989, AND WITH THE HELP OF HER HUSBAND PHILIP, DISTRIBUTES TO GALLERIES THROUGHOUT GREAT BRITAIN, EUROPE, SOUTH AFRICA, AUSTRALIA, CANADA AND AMERICA. Oxfam Shop Hampstead

Situated in a prime position in Hampstead Village, Oxfam Hampstead has been on this site since 1991. It was recently refurbished and we have around 30 volunteers but are always looking for new people, especially those who have experience in running an online shop. We are also looking for people who wish to gain retail experience and help sort our donations.


We stock a wide range of Fairtrade ecologically sourced and eco-friendly products, as well as a fantastic variety of donated goods, including an excellent women's clothing section with many designer labels. In the homeware section you can always find that special thing you are looking for. Not to forget the popular children's section where we have a wide selection of toys and children's clothes. Our unique selections of bespoke art works and jewellery are some of the best throughout Oxfam.


Once visited one is compelled to return time and again - in fact many of our regular customers visit every day in case they miss something!


Good quality donations including women's clothing, accessories, men's clothing, homewares, children's clothes, toys, jewellery, music and art work are all very welcome.


The shop is able to offer Gift Aid on donations and operates the 'tag a bag' scheme.
