Very good condition hardback on pale blue-grey boards with a black and white pictorial title sticker on the front cover. The edges of the block have darkened and internally the book is lightly foxed, however the text is clear and fully legible.

Th first published collection of poetry by "the Laureate of Gloucestershire" whilst he was serving on the front lines in World War One. By the time it was published he had been captured and placed in a Prisoner of War camp, where he continued to write poetry. Dedicated to "To all comrades of mine, who lie dead in foreign fields for love of England, or who live to prosecute the war for another England"
