A Handbook for travellers "including the whole empire from Yezo to Formosa". With twenty eight maps and plans and numerous illustrations. Sixth Edition, revised. Includes a map laid in at the end.

Hardback book in fair condition. Ends of spine chipped, corners bumped. Spine sunned and discoloured. The cloth over the front joint has split and the front hinge has cracked, but the boards are still attached. Wear to boards and edges. Top edge of text block discoloured. The edge of one fold out map protrudes and has frayed. Occasional foxing. Closed tear to frontispiece map. Red ink stamp "Duplicate Copy Offered to:" on map and title page. A comment in pencil states "all maps and plans checked". Previous owner organisation's label on title page. Ink stamp of that owner on back of preface page covered with blank labels. Page 19 has a closed tear which has been repaired with sellotape. Some pencil annotations on endpapers.

Located in the centre of the historic market town, we are open seven days a week. You will find a wide and interesting range of stock, including a great selection of children's books, popular and classical music on vinyl and CD, vintage Penguins and other paperbacks, and quirky and collectable items. Our stock is selected by knowledgeable volunteers, catering for both general readers and specialists. We are happy to check our backroom stock for wanted items and also offer a request service. Our themed windows are usually changed every two weeks, with our December Christmas displays offering a diverse and unusual range of gift ideas.

We welcome your donations, which can be brought to the rear of the building (via the Lower Kings Road Car Park). Please contact us before bringing large quantities to discuss arrangements.
