A Picturesque History of Yorkshire

£50.00

Product description

Subtitle: "Being an Account of the History, Topography, and Antiquities of the Cities, Towns and Villages of the County of York, founded on Personal Observations made during many Journeys through the Three Ridings"

Three volume set bound in maroon leather with 5 raised bands to the spine. Boards and spine quite badly worn and corners bumped. Endpapers are fine marbled in maroon, blue and green, as are the page ends which are somewhat faded and discoloured through time. Frontispiece is still protected with original tissue.

Despite the external appearance, internally the books are in remarkably good condition with little sign of use, and generally the bindings are still quite tight for a book of this age. There are no inscriptions.

Due to the weight of this set it will be dispatched by courier at additional cost.
