Original contemporary full leather, gold-stamped decoration on edges of binding, spine with five raised bands, four panels with gold decoration, the title label missing, footband unravelling, much rubbed and front board detached, but text block firmly attached, tight and sound. All edges marbled.

Engraved armorial Ex Libris of "W.N. Elliot Esq.", on front pastedown, as well as an engraved Library Case- and Shelf-mark label, with hand-written: "G2". Volume II only of this three-volume work. Frontispiece fold-out engraving of The West Prospect or Front of the Cathedral Church of Loncolne", printed titlepage followed by dedication page (in Latin ) to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge; iii and 592 pages; this volume contains descriptions and fold-out engravings of the cathedrals of the Diocese of Lincoln: Lincoln, Ely, Oxford, and Peterborough.
There is a General Index of Most of the Material Contents in each See, an Index of Epitaphs, and an Index of Sirnames sic etc.

Although in need of fairly minor repair to the binding, this is a splendidly bright copy of this handsome volume.
